AJC Women in Finance Scholarship

The AJC Women in Finance Scholarship aims to provide motivation and support for aspiring female professionals in the financial sector. With a one-time award of $2,500.00, this scholarship for women is meant to alleviate the financial burdens of education and pave the way for future leaders in finance, economics, and accounting. At AJC, we believe in nurturing talent and ambition, providing a stepping stone for female students who are determined to make a significant impact in the corporate world.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be in at least their second year of study towards a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in finance, economics, or accounting. The scholarship is open to students nationwide.

Important Dates

• Submission Period: August 1st, 2024, to October 31st, 2024
• Selection Announcement: Early December 2024
• Fund Disbursement: January 2025, for the Spring Semester

Submission Requirements

Applicants are required to submit the following documents via email:

• An unofficial transcript, including student ID number
• A letter of recommendation from an academic source (e.g., counselor, department head, teacher, or professor from high school or college)
• A 500-word typed essay on the topic: "The AJC Women in Finance Scholarship aims to brighten the future of the female workforce. In line with this goal, describe how you intend to support another woman in corporate America in the future."
• The email must include a designated subject line and contain the applicant's full name, address, and phone number

Selection Process

The journey to the AJC Women in Finance Scholarship award is meticulous and thoughtful:

• Review Stage: Our team will review all submissions to select the top three candidates based on their academic achievements, leadership potential, and vision for empowering women in finance.
• Interview Stage: The finalists will undergo interviews (either virtual or in-person) with our esteemed panel of banking and finance professionals, ranging from SVP to C-level executives.
• Final Decision: Feedback from these interviews will guide the selection of the scholarship recipient. The winner will have the scholarship funds directly sent to their college or university to be applied to their account, ensuring a seamless support system for their academic journey.
